Premier Padel Asunción P2: New World Number 1s After Paraguay

The Asunción P2 reshuffled the Premier Padel rankings at the top. Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto claimed the men's world number 1 spot, while Bea González and Paula Josemaría locked in their fourth consecutive title to tighten their grip on the women's side.

On the women's draw, González-Josemaría are running a streak that no pair has matched this season. Four straight titles puts serious pressure on Triay-Brea, who held the top ranking for most of the past two years. The gap is closing fast and the points math is brutal for the reigning number 1s.

For Galán and Chingotto, this is a statement win. Leandro Tapia and Arturo Coello had dominated the men's circuit since mid-2023, but Asunción proves the throne is not locked in. Galán brings the tactical reading, Chingotto the left-side aggression and flat winners that opponents struggle to anticipate.

The Paraguay leg matters beyond the title. P2 points are significant but not P1-level, so the remaining Premier Padel events in 2025 will decide whether these ranking changes stick or flip again. Every pair is now circling the schedule looking for points opportunities.

Solid performances from both winning pairs. Real pressure on Tapia-Coello and Triay-Brea. The 2025 season just got sharper.
