Asunción Premier Padel P2: Sanyo eliminated in round one

The Asunción Premier Padel P2 has already produced two major upsets in as many days. After Paquito Navarro and Guerrero, ranked fifth in the world, fell in the opening round, Sanyo Gutiérrez joined them on the exit list before the round of 16 even began.
Sanyo is one of the most decorated players in padel history, a former world number one with multiple World Padel Tour titles to his name. Losing in the first round of a P2 event is the kind of result that would have been unthinkable three or four years ago.
The Asunción draw is proving far more competitive than the seedings suggested. Lower-ranked pairs are coming in physically sharp and tactically prepared, which is exactly what the Premier Padel P2 format is designed to produce: genuine competition across the entire bracket, not just at the top.
Full results from both days of round-of-32 action confirm this is not a one-off. Multiple seeded pairs are out. The tournament moves into the round of 16 with a reshuffled landscape and several unseeded teams now in genuine contention for the title.
